Michal Navratil

Backend Reliability & Performance Engineer

I'm a backend engineer with 8+ years of software development experience, focused on reliable and high-performance backend systems.

My primary stack is Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL and Kafka. I focus particularly on problems that appear when systems meet real production load: performance bottlenecks, transaction boundaries, concurrency, data consistency, event delivery and operational reliability.

Current focus: identifying why backend systems become slow, unreliable or inconsistent — and turning the findings into measurable, practical improvements.
Performance & Data Consistency Audits

What I Work On

Technology

Backend
Java, Spring Boot, Spring, Hibernate
Messaging
Apache Kafka, event-driven architectures
Databases
PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL
Reliability
Transactions, idempotency, outbox/inbox, concurrency, retry and failure handling
Performance
JVM profiling, SQL analysis, execution plans, application and database bottlenecks
Observability
Metrics, tracing, logging, OpenTelemetry / Micrometer concepts
Platform
Linux, Docker, Git

Projects & Technical Work

I build production-oriented backend projects and technical labs focused on concurrency, performance, reliable event processing and failure scenarios.

Case studies and technical write-ups are being added gradually.
