It was all going well until my 3rd competition dive...
Training dives were feeling good, but then when it was time to compete my favorite Handstand Dive, I overthought it too much and it came as one of my worst dive scores ever (bomba landing!!) which shoot me down from 4th place to 11th.
Not much to lose on my last one, so I tried to erase my mistake from my mind, and focus on my Front Twist Dive. I managed to put it down nicely, and climb a few positions up to 8th place.
Not the result I was aiming at, but happy to keep my 3rd overall, together with Gary Hunt: by the way, happy to see my buddy come back from his twist mental block and get a well deserved win in Sisikon!
The first 3 stops of the Season have proven challenging, with a high level of all participants, but I kept my dives consistent and solid.
A 2nd place in Texas, 5th in Bilbao and 4th in Azores keep me in a nice 2nd place in the Overall Ranking. A lot of work to do to keep up in the high Rank!
Getting ready to return to Sisikon, after 8 years!

Marmeeting is one of the most emblematic competitions for all Cliff Divers. For some of us, it is the first Championship where we get invited, and we get to dive in this amazing location in the Amalfi Coast, the bridge on the Fiordo of Furore, where we are received with wonderful hospitality by the organisers and the many locals we get to know year by year.
After a thrilling first round, where every diver was ripping their dives, I managed to get into second place with my handstand in the second round. For my last dive, I did my Front Twist without the running take off, and although it wasn't my best, it was enough to keep the 2nd Place.
Hats off to Andy Jones (USA), winner of the 31st Marmeeting edition with 3 impecable dives.
The beginning of the Red Bull Cliff Diving Season is not going as I expected, ending up with 11th position in the two first events, Inis Mor and Azores.
A lot of competitions still ahead, so working of focusing in my dives!
